Day 5

Have you ever felt like you just had too much energy bottled up inside and needed a way to release it? Well, there are a few ways to do just that! One way is through exercise or working out. Getting physical, whether it's running, weightlifting or dancing, can help release pent-up energy and emotions, leaving you feeling relaxed and refreshed. Plus, the endorphins released during exercise can also bring a sense of well-being and balance.

Another way to release energy is by using cleansing practices like sage or palo santo. These herbs have been used for centuries in spiritual practices to cleanse and purify energy. Smudging, which involves burning sage or palo santo and wafting the smoke around a space or person, is believed to release negative energy and bring about a sense of peace and clarity.

Another form of releasing energy is by burning things. This can include burning candles, incense, or even writing down things you want to let go of and burning the paper. Traditionally, people have used fire to release energy. Many cultures believe burning things can release negative energy and bring about a sense of release and renewal. So, give one of these a try next time you need to release some pent-up energy!

Today’s Prompts:

  1. A physical energy release - hitting the gym, walking outside, or turning on YouTube and doing one of the countless workout videos online is a great way to generate endorphins and release negative energy.

  2. Try using some sage or palo santo to smudge your space. Start by putting your intention into the flame before blowing it out and allowing the plant to smolder. Using a small bowl or other sacred items (I like using an abalone shell) to catch any burning pieces that might fall, wave a feather to direct the smoke around your space, clearing out everything that isn't for your own highest good and that of others. Blocks be gone! If you have my book, MEDIUM MENTOR: 10 Powerful Techniques to Awaken Divine Guidance for Yourself and Others turn to page 15 for more information on smudging and learn about "bringing in the light."

  3. Burn, baby burn! Get a fire-proof bowl or barrel big enough to burn a small piece of paper. Write down something that you would like to release. Say it out loud and light it up! (My good friend Tarot Lori is the inspiration for this prompt.)

I hope you've found this series on spiritual practices helpful and inspiring. Remember, it's important to make your spiritual practice unique to you, so don't be afraid to go with your own flow. You're more likely to stick to it and see benefits when you make it your own. Your spiritual schedule should bring you joy and excitement, so if it's not, consider where the discomfort is coming from and make adjustments. The most important thing is to have fun with it and enjoy the journey!
